কুমিল্লার মুরাদনগরে ঘটে যাওয়া এক হৃদয়বিদারক ঘটনা আদিবা হত্যা। পরিবারের ঘনিষ্ঠ সম্পর্কের আড়ালে লুকিয়ে ছিল এক নির্মম খুনির রূপ। জানা যায়, আবুল হাসানাত আব্দুল্লাহ(১৯) শিশু আদিবা জাহান মীমকে খুন করেছে। হাসানাত আবদুল্লা সম্পর্কে আদিবা জাহান মীমের চাচাত ভাই। সে বাঙ্গরা বাজার থানার সিমানার গ্রামের আবদুর রশিদের ছেলে।
হত্যা কান্ডের ১২ দিন পর, সোমবার রাতে বাঙ্গরা বাজার থানা পুলিশ আদিবা হত্যার মূল হোতা হাসানাত আব্দুল্লাহকে নিজ বাড়ি থেকে গ্রেফতার করে। মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে ১০ দিনের রিমান্ড চেয়ে ১১নং আমলী আদালতে হাজির করলে, বিজ্ঞ বিচারক আবিদা সুলতানা মলি ৭ দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেন।

উল্লেখ্য আদিবা জাহান মীম নিখোঁজ হওয়ার পর পরিবারের সবাই মিলে খোঁজাখুঁজি করে। পরে বাড়ির পাশের ডোবায় পাওয়া যায় আদিবার নিথর দেহ। দুঃখজনক হলেও সত্য, হত্যাকারী আব্দুল্লাহ নিজেই জানাজা ও দাফন-কাফনের সকল কাজে অংশ নেয়, যা পুরো এলাকা জুড়ে তীব্র ক্ষোভ ও শোকের জন্ম দেয়।
এলাকাবাসীর দাবি, এমন ভয়ঙ্কর অপরাধীর দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি হওয়া উচিত, যাতে ভবিষ্যতে কেউ এমন কাজ করার সাহস না পায়।
